Nine vintage matchboxes, a little nostalgia and a rather colourful piece of history.
Lemon Sherbet is an original shadowbox artwork bringing together nine vintage matchboxes, mostly dating from the 1950s–1980s. Each has been carefully selected and arranged to create a one-of-a-kind composition, celebrating the distinctive illustrations, colours and typography found on these little pieces of everyday ephemera.
Once ordinary objects, these old matchboxes offer a glimpse into the graphic design and visual culture of another era. Together, they make an unusual piece of vintage wall art with plenty of character and nostalgic charm.
A lovely addition to a collection, or a distinctive piece for anyone interested in vintage design, advertising, typography and smoking-related memorabilia.
