Adolescence is a surreal reflection on selfhood, womanhood and the endless possibilities of who we might become. A young woman sits at her vanity, looking into a mirror that opens not onto her reflection, but into the vastness of space — a layered portal suggesting that there is always more to discover beneath the surface.
The piece explores the depth and complexity of growing up as a woman: the process of figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and all the different versions of yourself that might exist along the way. The galaxy becomes a metaphor for that inner world — expansive, mysterious and full of possibility.
Created from my original handmade collage, Adolescence combines vintage imagery with a surreal, dreamlike intervention, inviting us to look beyond the surface and imagine what might be waiting there.
